The Friends of Old Brampton Church is an organisation that exists to help in the work of preserving, restoring, improving and caring for this beautiful historic building, its furnishings and its grounds. The Church is in the heart of the Parish of Old Brampton which includes Old Brampton itself, Hemming Green, Wigley, Eastmoor, Ingmanthorpe, Wadshelf, Cutthorpe,Holme Hall, Linacre Woods and Ashgate.

The Church is a Grade 1 listed building and has a long history. There was a Church on this site from circa 1100 AD and elements of the Norman church remain to this day.

The building is used for regular worship, funerals, baptisms and other celebrations and remembrances and is very popular for weddings. The cost of maintaining the building over the centuries has been met by patronage and central church funds but now depends primarily on fundraising by the congregation, on donations and on limited grants.

We believe it is of great importance to ensure that this building is preserved for future generations who live in and those who simply visit the community, to enjoy and it is to this end that the Friends raise funds beyond that which the Church Family - the worshippers - can sustain - for its continued upkeep.
